2016 marks the 80th Anniversary of The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA). This is a very significant milestone for BGCA. We see the tremendous opportunity for our next generation to grow stronger and better in this increasingly complex, competitive and challenging environment. So, we take this special anniversary celebration to host the BGCA 80th Anniversary Scientific Conference, titled “Invest in our Young for a Brighter Tomorrow”, and embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in children and youth services.
We are greatly honored to have Social Work Department, The Chinese University of Hong Kong as our co-organizer of this conference, and have world-renowned local and overseas speakers for the different thematic seminars, plenary sessions, interactive workshops and discussion forums. We are particularly grateful for the generous support of Prof. James Heckman (Nobel Prize Laureate in Economic Sciences, Director of Center for the Economics of Human Development, Professor of Economics, University of Chicago, USA) and Dr. James Pawelski, (Director of Education and Senior Scholar, Positive Psychology Center, University of Pennsylvania, USA), who have agreed to be our keynote speakers.
As ever, BGCA keeps moving forward to enrich and to empower our team to grow stronger and to serve our community better.
